Blepharoplasty

This is a surgical procedure that involves removal/repositioning of excess skin and fat from the eyelid to achieve a more youthful contour. This is both a functional and cosmetic procedure. Goals are to restore function of the eyelid (that may be obstructing peripheral vision), remove excess skin, smooth the underlying eye muscles, tighten the supporting structures, and smooth out the lower eyelid-cheek transition. Surgery may involve the upper lids, the lower lids, both, and/or the surrounding tissue of the forehead and eyebrows.

Indications include:

- Thorough preoperative and medical history, indicating that eyelid surgery will address and correct your concerns

- Loss of peripheral vision for excess upper eyelid skin Consultation may involve collaboration with an ophthalmologist to ensure that all functional and visual concerns are addressed.
